Nationalism does not swing authoritarian leftists right wing. The chicoms are, and soviets were, also nationalist. The german nazis were a hard left authoritarian government. Strong centralized government power and collectivist ideologies are left wing. Nationalism is not an element tied to either wing, it is a relative cultural element that is used to strengthen a nation of any type by intelligent leaders.

You have been fed propaganda your entire life, and fed yet more to be convinced that to reject leftism you should adopt another leftist ideology - that is the goal of the propaganda campaign aimed at convincing people the krauts were right wing. That is objectively false, and it is done to deliberately muddy the waters and allow leftists to pretend that the atrocities of the 20th century weren't directly caused by their ideologies, and to create the false perception that both wings are similar - to make it seem that both can be evil on the same scale.
