I've seen a lot of dumb localizer moves that were just bad. Like, not the usual kind of self insert, change stuff to see what they can get away with, just bad in general.
There was an instance posted here about a week or so ago, where someone felt the need to change the dialogue of what was said. It was someone who was using a bit of playful sarcasm about someone turning their allegiance around, and they turned it into full on beheading.
Like the difference in Skyrim from "My ancestors are smiling at me imperial. Can you say the same"
to
"Come on! I haven't got all morning!"
It changed the tone of what was being said to something they did not intend.
Aside from the other BS I mentioned, that's the sort of thing that bugs me.
I've been noticing more and more low level translation changes in the anime releasing over the past year or so. Nothing even tonal, just straight up minor conversational text being different from the spoken dialog in small ways that don't really change anything but are apparent enough to pick up on as someone who doesn't actually speak Japanese but has consumed decades of fansubs.
