Been into metal stuff recently but I haven't been able to find a good chunk of creators that at least keep the political stuff aside, so what are some of your recommendations?
By far, the best one that I've come across is "Thralls of Metal", they seem pretty based and I was glad that on the Pantera's ranking they didn't spent like an hour roasting Phil just because of a fucking edgy joke that he made in the past like other faggots in shittube have done (cough...Old...cough...Head). I did watch some of "The Metal Meltdown" videos but I don't like his zoomer way of speaking and he's probably a lefty.
I don't know jack about metal, but I still watch Raz0rfist's Metal Mythos from time to time. Fascinating deep dives on the history of specific bands. He doesn't really do recommendations on new bands, though I occasionally look up a song from his credits only to discover it's new-ish.
Just posting to follow.
Not a metal head, but Vulgar Display of Power is hands down one of the best albums I've listened to across all genres...heard it when I was a teen and within the last year, it completely holds up.
(Also just posting to follow / go through recommendations. I've gotten more into metal in recent months as well, with Deftones being my favorite.)
Personally, I love the Pantera from "Cowboys from Hell", that album is a 10/10 for me and I believe they managed to find a good middle ground between their classic heavy metal groove and the more thrashy approach to music that they were looking for back then. Didn't have the chance to listen to Pantera back in the day, so I'm pretty new to the band. I've yet to get into Vulgar and their other stuff but what I've listened so far it kicks balls
Cowboys is a really good album, but I don't rate it as highly as you. Where as Vulgar is arguably among the best in its genre.
Then again, as I said, I'm not a metal head; I happen to dabble in it on-and-off, so I don't claim any particular expertise on this topic.
I don't listen to it, but I stumbled on Alan Averill's small channel a while back. He's the vocalist of Primordial and collaborated with the Revenge/AoA guys so he's probably a bit based. Seems like music discussion takes a bit of a back seat to his general thoughts.
Oh yeah I forgot I stumbled on this guy too. No idea who he is but he seems a cool guy. And it just so happens he has 666 subscribers right now... surely it's fate that I introduce him to you. But I can't fully vouch for him because I don't watch him lmao.
Personally I just have no interest in watching anyone talk about music. To the extent that music-focused channels ever interest me, it's usually just ones that curate and post new obscure albums in their entirety, eg. Odium Nostrum or Black Metal Promotion. Not sure if there's a death metal or other genre equivalent of those BM-focussed ones, but maybe the algorithm will send some your way if it sees you checking those out.
Thanks! I'll check those out
Kmac has good memes and music (in that order), but he's not very active so it's mostly an archive channel
if you're into weeb stuff Utsu-P is great
No thanks, I despise memes and weeb shit. Appreciate the suggestions tho
