As Disney has shown us, there's clearly some other incentive other than profits that's driving these companies. There would have been massive internal corrections by now otherwise.

For the people in power (of these companies), the only motive that makes sense is malice.
They're clearly not driven by incompetence, even though they attract it with their policies. Why not? Because stupidity will result in varied decisions and outcomes. We're not seeing that, though. These people are all saying and doing the exact same things, all of it poison. They even believe the exact same things, all of it poison. The sameness exists in all of these different companies, in all sectors of society, and across national borders.
They're clearly not driven by greed, as every single one of these DEI ventures loses tons of money, often billions of dollars, year after year. They don't stop pushing this insanity "when the money runs out". We've seen repeatedly that they double down and push it harder. They're obviously being funded through extremely dishonest means, money laundered from banking, usury, fractional reserve banking, money printing, trillion dollar spending bills, "foreign aid", and all manner of drug, weapon, and human trafficking. The money is never going to run out unless the people doing this are stopped.
The only motive that makes sense is malice. These people are evil.
For them to maintain power, and to keep pushing their agenda of lies, of pushing us further into hellworld, they have to constantly push their propaganda. Propaganda is used to make people believe things they nornally wouldn't (i.e. lies). That's why propaganda had to be pushed regularly, to keep people believing the lie, so they don't escape and realize the obvious truth. The more egregious the lie, the more extreme the propaganda, in terms of quantity, magnitude, and frequency. That's why they've captured almost every sector of society, almost every major company, almost every Western country, and turned all of it into a propaganda outlet, spewing their lies 24/7.
They're not going to stop, and there is no bottom depth to the hell in which they'll push us. It's going to keep getting worse. Fortunately, though, even under the deluge of their propaganda, more people are waking up, because the lies are making less and less sense. They used to get away with it because their propaganda was more subtle. Not any more.
Tangentially related, this is one of the reasons why I stopped watching "culture war" personalities like Nerdrotic, Az, Ryan Kinnel, Film Threat, etc., because they still, STILL, think this is all due to incompetence and/or greed. They think this insanity will end "when the money runs out". They're right wing normies, who just like them, keep getting screwed over by the Republicans, get pissed off about it every year, but then keep voting for them. They keep saying and doing the exact same thing expecting a different result.
Same exact boat here. The mainstream conservative culture war critics are all disaffected lefties who refuse to acknowledge the role that leftism plays in most of bad modern media. They harp and harp about how confusing all the nonsensical writing is because they won’t simply apply the political lens that perfectly explains everything. I assume most of these critics are protecting their income by endlessly beating around the bush versus connecting the dots and arriving at real root causes, but this behavior really puts a ceiling on the value of their analysis for anyone with above average IQ. At some point, you get tired of saying “yes, and?”
The people I watched, which I listed above, do acknowledge the role the left plays, and many of the bad influences it has in entertainment. However, I think you hit it more squarely on the head when you said:
I used to watch those guys religiously, because they were at least entertaining and funny, but there were several instances where their own fans/commenters pointed out the root causes, and were banned for "hate speech" in comment sections, or they themselves stepped just over the line, and knew they did, and instantly back tracked for fear of losing their gravy train on Youtube. It's cowardly. Even if all those guys were genuine, and driven purely by maintaining their cash flow, they've, by choice, aligned themselves perfectly with the rest of the false choice mainstream right wing, which is entirely curated and controlled, meant to capture people from moving further right, to give people the illusion of choice and resistance, to prevent people from discussing actual verboten topics, of figuring out and pursuing effective solutions.
Once I figured out that's what they were doing, I lost all respect for them and stopped watching all of them. They're incapable of actually fighting the "culture war" in the confines they, by their own choice, keep themselves in, and are afraid of making an actual difference by taking the chance of discussing the truth, for fear of being banned to a smaller platform and making less money. That means, in essence, they prioritize money over the truth. Anything else they claim to be is bullshit. We have enough sell outs on the right more than happy to sell their souls to the devil, and resign their people to genocide, all for a fucking pittance paycheck. No one is going to be saved by following those types of people. The people that do follow them are doomed, just as much as the useful idiots on the left.
