Same exact boat here. The mainstream conservative culture war critics are all disaffected lefties who refuse to acknowledge the role that leftism plays in most of bad modern media. They harp and harp about how confusing all the nonsensical writing is because they won’t simply apply the political lens that perfectly explains everything. I assume most of these critics are protecting their income by endlessly beating around the bush versus connecting the dots and arriving at real root causes, but this behavior really puts a ceiling on the value of their analysis for anyone with above average IQ. At some point, you get tired of saying “yes, and?”
The people I watched, which I listed above, do acknowledge the role the left plays, and many of the bad influences it has in entertainment. However, I think you hit it more squarely on the head when you said:
I used to watch those guys religiously, because they were at least entertaining and funny, but there were several instances where their own fans/commenters pointed out the root causes, and were banned for "hate speech" in comment sections, or they themselves stepped just over the line, and knew they did, and instantly back tracked for fear of losing their gravy train on Youtube. It's cowardly. Even if all those guys were genuine, and driven purely by maintaining their cash flow, they've, by choice, aligned themselves perfectly with the rest of the false choice mainstream right wing, which is entirely curated and controlled, meant to capture people from moving further right, to give people the illusion of choice and resistance, to prevent people from discussing actual verboten topics, of figuring out and pursuing effective solutions.
Once I figured out that's what they were doing, I lost all respect for them and stopped watching all of them. They're incapable of actually fighting the "culture war" in the confines they, by their own choice, keep themselves in, and are afraid of making an actual difference by taking the chance of discussing the truth, for fear of being banned to a smaller platform and making less money. That means, in essence, they prioritize money over the truth. Anything else they claim to be is bullshit. We have enough sell outs on the right more than happy to sell their souls to the devil, and resign their people to genocide, all for a fucking pittance paycheck. No one is going to be saved by following those types of people. The people that do follow them are doomed, just as much as the useful idiots on the left.
You'll never get the truth from someone that makes their living on YouTube,by design. Crowder leaking the DW contract details showed just how much at the mercy of the Karen overlords on YouTube you are.
