Anti-gun Leftists drilled into ESG-consumed corps' minds that ''guns = bad, and parents wont let their children play such game''.
It's not just the guns though. The whole thing is well done and very nicely priced ( $30 USD ).
PalWorld is everything a recent Pokémon should have been. A bunch of ''Dev newbies'' ate a mega franchise's lunch. Who would want to play some mediocre Pokémon N+1 when there is Palworld which did a good ''Monster Collection meets Ark survival'' game?
The Usual Suspects reeeing about the game for all the SJW reasons is just free publicity. ( Muh animal rights, muh slavery, muh AI ( both irrelevant and false anyway ), muh copying Pokémon ( oh my sweet innocent gamesJournoids with no clue of how saturated Japanese monster collection fighting games are. thousands of fictional monsters overlap greatly by now. You can no longer make one that won't look like something already done 3+ times ).
I watched some gameplay. My laptop can't run it. I will probably play it in a few years when I change computer and hardware improvements passively caught up with my limited budget.
Jade Cocoon let you literally beat the monsters down to capture by yourself, and it came out in 1998 before Pokemon had even codified the genre. It even had breeding mechanics that are still more complex than 99% of games, and it was on the PS1.
The only difference is this one gave cute things the guns, making the power of going viral with memes basically do all the marketing for it.

Have you thought about a Steamdeck? Runs most things and is fairly cheap, especially if you get one off of ebay.
I checked the Steam website.
Price is not so bad, but I'll wait. I'd rather save those $500 for the next laptop.
Current one ( AMD Ryzen 5 5625U 8GB RAM, I got for ~$580 USD ) is good enough for so many games. Just not the recent high-end graphic stuff.
