I'm noticing a trend where Desantis supporters think they're smarter than everyone else....almost like dems do

I'm not sure it's dismissive about swamps and establishments. Rather, he's saying "these people who you can't stop talking about are very happy about this".
Let people metaphorically grieve.
Okay, point remains, fuck those people. It doesn't really matter, and I've said before how much I hate the "electability" argument. Maybe Trump will lose, I personally think it's worth taking the shot, as what he's bringing to the table is worth the risk over DeSantis in my opinion, and certainly over Haley.
If things were fair, Trump is completely electable. If they're not fair, who the fuck cares? I'll continue to rage against the swamp/establishment/media, because it's worth raging over. They must be stopped, and Trump's the one most likely to. Although he'd be a better president than Biden without a doubt, I don't think electing DeSantis would accomplish a tenth of what electing Trump would. I'm willing to roll the dice, and I'm not going to let manipulative bullshit like Correia's argument convince me otherwise.
It's still a massive dodge and, as I said, manipulative. Larry has his angle, and is trying to push his position on people. Which is his right, but people are right to criticize the seemingly elitist argument style. He's basically calling people stupid and blind in the comments, just because they think Trump is the best bet for change. Which he is. Again, like or hate DeSantis, I don't think he's anywhere near as much of a shock to the system as Trump, and in fact rolls things back the other way on some issues. I'm just not buying it.
Nikki Haley may be more 'electable' than Trump. I doubt it, but maybe. Problem is that with Haley, you lose whether or not she wins. With Trump, at least there is a chance.
But if we consider DeSantis to be an OK guy, then electability should be a factor. If DeSantis would win in 100% of cases and Trump in 40%, I'd prefer him.
OK, but then you are not completely disregarding electability. For someone who considers DeSantis and Trump to be equally good, it'd be legitimate to support DeSantis if he considered DS to be more electable.
I'm not entirely sure about whether he'd be better. But I'm sure that Trump foreign policy would be better, though I did appreciate how DS criticized Birdbrain for wanting to send even more money to Zelensky. And I also think that re-electing Trump will send a message to the establishment that they're done for, while with DS there is some plausible deniability.
What do we call people who are NPCs? I know some very smart people who unfortunately echo most media talking points, particularly when it comes to the US.
That's fine, but let's consider that these are good people who are upset because their candidate - who we all agree is decent - lost.
Yeah, I get that. But as I said in another comment, it's still worth criticizing these people if they're upset in stupid or condescending ways. People are absolutely free to pick their preferred horse in the race, and they're free to care if things don't go their way. But act like a jackass, and you get called out. This goes for Trump supporters too, by the way. I don't like them suddenly turning on Vivek (despite me never supporting his candidacy), for example. It was manufactured and lame. Generally not a good look.
So, yeah, I get Larry's disappointment. But he's taking it out in a weird direction, and being a bit of a bitch about it.
Absolutely. But I'd say that it's worthwhile to try to be a little patient with people who get things largely right. Gently correcting people has far more effect than anathematizing them (not saying you're doing this), particularly when they're not truly lost.
If Birdbrain had won, we'd be acting like jackasses, and rightly so.
Yeah, I don't understand people who say that they wouldn't vote for RDS over Biden.
