Again, I think we found the answer to the Fermi Paradox. Tecnhnological creatures wind up outsmarting themselves one way or another. Technological creatures exist only to recycle surface-level petroleum back into carbon.
Time is cyclical. Time is a bumpy spiral with ups and downs. Right now we seems to be getting out of the worst cycle (Kali yuga). The best cycle for humans is the satya yuga so we never really know if we are able to get out and transcend before the cycle resets again.
