This is something that does get me because I'm the same, people don't realise that I actively avoid television and I make a point not to look at trending pages because it's cancer. I might glance at it all to stay somewhat on board but normies really have zero fucking taste in anything good, they always watch absolute crap.
Yup, it's an interesting dichotomy for me; I'm quite online, but don't have an sort of cable/television subscription, don't enjoy most modern Western entertainment, actively avoid social media, as well as actively avoiding things like YouTube frontpage.
I'll look up some older Western media when the mood strikes (watched The Jackal yesterday, for example), but I'm not really plugged in to any algorithms or frontpages.
I literally have no clue about 99+% of modern entertainment.
Do you ever get normies looking at you in total confusion like you're some sort of alien when you explain that you don't watch MSM of any kind? Even my own parents don't understand there's shit tons for me to do with just an internet connection and PC but they're boomers so I'm more forgiving in that area.
And I'm only half kidding. My job is quite solo, so I don't have coworkers (mostly a blessing), I don't have many friends, and my family is kind of weird like me. So it only comes up rarely, but yes, I do confuse people when they realize I just don't engage in any of the mainstream entertainment they do. I think normies confuse me even more than I confuse them though.
Weird thing is, when it's the normies in my family. Generally the ones I'm not super close to. When they want to talk at length about some trending TV show I've never seen, or sometimes even heard of. Like, random normies I can sort of understand. If it's my own family just being so different, it is a little weird.
How 'bout that Squid Games? How 'bout that Game of Thrones? Tiger King is wild, man!
Hurr durr hurr Big Bang Theory did you see that episode that's aired for the 100th time? Yeah this is one of the reasons I couldn't gel with a lot of people even my own age, pop music fucking especially.
Here in the UK it's a big thing to listen to BBC Radio 1 apparently and as you'd expect it's zoomer/millennial leftist cancer on steroids with shitty music that people listen to on repeat for the millionth time while some BBC presenter inevitably spergs out on whatever current thing monologue they've got going for them that particular day. Glastonbury festival is something that's hugely hyped up by left wing people and it's where the upper/middle class lefties all go to party out to pop music etc. and stay in a muddy field with a giant wall around it.
I'm not even somebody who cares about music but it's like my rants about how Hollywood always puts shitty rap music even over genres it doesn't really belong these days. I have my own preferences but people just listen to the exact same crap day in an day out on repeat which is why I often rant about how they need to get some fucking hobbies.

I don't interact with normies.

That's not really that unusual.
