I know. But from a Christian standpoint we can’t use violence against them unless we are physically attacked. Stand strong and represent what Christ asks us to be. Calling out sin is important but I’ve learned that it’s pointless to try to have a theological conversation

What? Pacifism is not a part of Christianity. Particularly not if it means giving the wicked free reign and an endless supply of innocent victims.

Christ called us to be shepherds. It is a poor shepherd that refuses to shoot a wolf.

Christ called us to be shepherds. It is a poor shepherd that refuses to shoot a wolf.

Besides the cross, what's the main symbol of Christianity (ok fish is big, dove, etc.)? The shepherd's crook. Bishops staffs are designed to look like a shepherd's crook.

Why?

Jesus as the Good Shepherd.

You think that crook was just for looks? Hell no. Shepherds are not soft, pacifistic men who let their flocks go where they will, eat what they will, and be preyed upon by predators.

No, that crook is for whacking the sheep on the ass when they go astray. The hook is for yanking a wayward sheep back in line and even rescuing a fallen or trapped lamb.

This idea of a soft, effeminiate, pacfistic "live life as you will" Jesus, is ahistorical and flawed.

You're missing the point. The shepherd protects his flock. The shepherd protects his flock from threats both internal and external.

Jesus was tough and critical to his followers. He challenged. He pushed.

"Force people into submission" is not a message of Jesus. Nor is a "live and let live" attitude towards his followers. It's those who are held to a high standard.

I’ m not a pacifist, and I do believe in self defense but I try to avoid violence unless it’s necessary. I don’t think turn the other cheek means to stand by while people get killed. I just don’t know how you and the lgbt activists with all the power behind them. Obviously prayer is crucial as well as teaching the children the right things.

I remember when gay marriage was being debated I never would’ve dreamed it would be so pervasive.

Sorry for being confusing.

There are worse fates than being killed. Such as consigning their immortal souls to hell.

If you're peaceful to the wolf, you leave the lambs at their mercy.

Agreed. I definitely don’t fear death due to salvation in Christ

Unironically yes. And you've more than earned it.

I’m not aware of anyone killing someone for being gay. I’ve never done so and that is obviously evil. Thanks for the non-sequitur buddy
