I've been a capital G Gamer for longer than most of you have been alive, and I rarely buy games any more. They're all just so bland and corporate. The only things I really care any more are Nintendo flagships and the odd out-of-the-blue GotY contender.
My parents always told me one day I'd stop caring about getting new video games. I doubt this is what they meant though.
In the same boat here. I used to love games, going all the way back to the Atari, and early indie titles like Sopwith and Street Rod. Lived through the DOS days and having to manually setup system files through the config.sys to initialise memory settings for the boot sequencing, or launching from floppy disks because some computers back in the day didn't come with hard drives.
Never thought there would come a time where the past time I've loved the most is something I can hardly be bothered with these days. It now feels like a chore thinking about gaming because everything has turned woke, lame, and gay.
Recently watched a normie review Alan Wake 2 and it's funny how he completely tore the game apart for all the problems that Lethn pointed out in the initial post -- exact same criticisms. And it's true, they're so banal and vapid that they're just wastes of time, not even worth hate-watching/playing.

Same. Prices are higher for everything too.
