True. I asked because I’m fairly new to Manga and only have a few right now. I still haven’t remembered which ones are which. They act like it’s evil to have attractive women but musclebound guys are fine for women
Yes shonen is for young males, shojo is young females. There is also seinen and josei for adult men and women, respectively.

Just remember, "nen" is the magic power from Hunter X Hunter, a preeminant shonen show. And "Jo" is "Jojo", which features many homoerotic-but-not-gay attractive men, which is attractive to the female crowd.
