Yep, if someone is living in sin, you don't just say "that's fine" and act like nothing is wrong, they're harming themselves and others around them.
Its like drug addiction (except even worse), its not "loving them" to pretend like they don't have a problem, and yes, there is such a thing as tough love at times if its necessary. Its painful, but if things are bad enough, there might not be much of a choice.
You can't control or guarantee whether or not your kids will go to heaven or do the right thing for that matter, but you can do your best as a parent to set them on the right path and be an example for them to follow. Faith in God can work surprising things sometimes even when a son/daughter might seem hopeless, but condoning sin is not something the Bible ever calls to do.
