The mob-mentality of the entryist replacement Total War fanbase fascinates me more than this dime-a-dozen corporate boondoggle. The fad chasing suckers that piled on Arch and Volund deserve the undercooked TWW3 and super bland TW: Troy plus Pharroh. Not sure if they're capable of such coherent emotions.
Another fascinating thing about Pharoah is I was looking at some gameplay out of curiosity and people were commenting on how downsized the game was compared to previous titles. There's a lot to unpack with the recent CA drama but it's funny. If they've been making engine switches and downsizing I'm wondering if they're cutting content and trying to downsize for the sake of optimisation.
The campaigns for recent Total War games have been fucking awful in terms of performance especially Mortal Empires and Immortal Empires that's me pointing this out as a previous total war fan as well. I played mortal empires to death but then I realised how bad CA was getting and refused to buy another title from them plus it was obvious they were never going to fix things like the turn time problems in the game. I'm not convinced that the new talent they'll be hiring especially if they're SJWs has any idea how to fix it. So what's the solution? Downgrade their games and sell stand alone versions like Pharoah to their customers bit by bit. Regardless of how much you hate the games industry you have to admire the marketing prowess because the amount of bullshit spin they put on these pathetic decisions really hits it home how much they like to trick their customers into buying things instead of just giving them a good product.
They did get around to optimizing turn times about a year into WH2 launch. Can't speak for WH3, it's on the list of games I'll only buy when the complete package is under $20.
CA are one of the few studios that barely do discounts because they're failing and are desperate to milk their fanbase for all it's worth and they've pretty much stated that now.
I played the private beta because I got a random code via some gaming website, and boy did it suck.
Disregarding the drag queen PC, the retarded fact that you're looting space age "MuH BillIoNaIrEs" for Sonic merch using a Genisis to hack the vault door, the game just wasn't very fun. There was something off about fighting other players. You'd get absolutely destroyed or just melt the other players, much faster than skill alone should justify, nothing in between. I suspected the net code, and promptly removed that shit from my library.

Oooooo prejudices confirmed, shitty internal engine vs shiny new modern engine they know nothing about I love this video.
Edit: Also interesting to know for sure that micro-transactions are just a lazy way for devs to try and milk their playerbase at minimal cost.
Nobody asked for this, SEGA, and they're literally cheering its cancellation.
100 million, they greenlighted this piece of shit for 100 millions. I guess they must have felt invincible with that ESG funds.
