Specialty glass company Schott AG experimented with substituting emissions-free hydrogen for gas at the plant where it produces glass in tanks as hot as 1,700 degrees Celsius.
It worked — but only on a small scale, with hydrogen supplied by truck. Mass quantities of hydrogen produced with renewable electricity and delivered by pipeline would be needed and don't exist yet.
Complete and utter brain liquification. Leftism is a social and psychological disease.
Hydrogen is made from crude oil in a stupendously inefficient process. Unless they are making it on-site, the transport of hydrogen is incredibly complicated and wasteful.
Even hydrogen made by electrolysis, from electricity (made by burning coal or gas in Germany) is very inefficient!
It is specifically a scam to double the price of energy. Or, more correctly, burn twice as many fossil fuels to produce the same amount of useful energy, thus doubling profit margins.

Next month: Schott AG glass plant explodes in giant fireball.
In the U.S. we're at 25% electricity for glass furnaces - but Germany's electricity is so expensive they'd rather get gas delivered on trucks I guess.
So the real WTF is once again that they turned their nuclear off for no reason.
In what reality is hydrogen "emissions free"?

Fuck I hate greenwashing.
It also has to be stored in its liquid state which means either maintaining a cryogenic storage tank at 20K or a high pressure tank.
Both of those are energy intensive. These people can't, or most probably won't, look at the big picture.
It's all a scam.
