Leaders 'never bound' by Conservative party members' policy ideas: Pierre Poilievre
On the eve of his first policy convention as Conservative leader, Pierre Poilievre reminded Canadians that he is not bound by the policy ideas the grassroots membership chooses to advance.
Why do you think the Proud Boys are a glowie op?
No they actually are, it was in a court case, a bunch of them got ousted as feds quite recently and the ones who weren't went to jail, classic January 6th style situation. This is why I never trust a 'right wing' group outside of the system that does street protests etc. and doesn't face state harassment on the level that Tommy Robinson does.
The leader got sentenced to prison though. I might have thought the same as you if he hadn't while others were. It sounds more like they were infiltrated.
The feds are in every organization. There were commies in the Nazis and Nazis in the commies. There's Chinese feds in the USA government and Jewish feds in the Russian government. It's how all their organizations operate. Just because there were feds in the proud boys doesn't mean they were a glowie op.
Maybe not originally, but the fact that these guys couldn't even do counter-intelligence properly is a classic example of. These people are either incompetent or controlled opposition and if we're to believe they're just incompetent then that doesn't make it excusable.
You can't just shrug and go "Well shucks I just let a bunch of people who knew me personally get fingered by the feds purely for joining my organisation, guess I'll have to just go to jail and then when I get out and live my life and then people who thought they were my friends are going to have to stay even longer". Although that seems to be exactly what some people are suggesting with this sort of bullshit.
I was in the Proud Boys prior to Jan 6th. Do you know what the leader of the Proud Boys chapter I was in did before Jan 6th? He told everyone in the Chapter that everyone is banned from showing up to Jan 6th. He said if anyone showed up to Jan 6th he'd kick them out of the Proud Boys. Why? Because he said it was plainly obvious that it was a setup by police and anyone going was going to put themselves and the organization in jeopardy.
So yeah, not everyone in the Proud Boys was an idiot and/or betrayed their own people or whatever. I'm sure there were so many feds and fed informants infiltrated in the PBs that it may as well have been a fed organization but the feds can do that to any organization they want to. A lot of the people in the PBs I knew personally and it wasn't all a bunch of feds, that's for sure.
Keep in mind the PBs was an extremely decentralized organization too so what one chapter did doesn't mean it had any bearing on other chapters. The feds could have just started their own chapter and tarnished the name of the PBs themselves and everyone would believe all the PBs are just like that one chapter. There was no way real way to reign in on what all the PBs were doing. Each Chapter had significant autonomy.
