We got so many notes wondering if the exploration of the queer world of the 1940s or Max’s world would be better saved for season 2, if people needed to start somewhere a little more familiar.
Confirmation that the leftist bait and switch of “amping up the woke in season two” on so many shows was a 100% a codified template.
I’m so glad we didn’t listen
Same here. I wish every show runner was this honest about their political activism masquerading as entertainment.
I used to think maybe it was just my imagination that so many first seasons seem good then they whack with woke garbage afterwards. I don’t think I’m crazy anymore
It's 100% the typical technique. The gay episode of the Last of Us show was dumped in the middle of the episode line-up so you were already invested in the series by the time it rolled around. The director explicitly stated that he put it there to force the audience to watch it because they would refuse to otherwise.
It's mentioned in passing in the game with enough subtlety that it could be missed completely if you weren't paying attention to a cutscene for a few seconds. There was NO full scene dedicated to the actual personal life or relationship the man had, and it definitely wasn't as romanticized, either. Just full-on gay fantasy besmirching a well-liked story again.
Guffaw.

I remember that. People tried to say it was in the game but I heard in the game it didn’t get that in depth
