You know, I did that last year -- my wife really wanted to go and one of her best friends and husband were going, so we went.
Yes, San Francisco is as bad as or worse than you've heard. I saw a bumfight within 5 minutes of getting in a car. BUT, for the two days we were there we stayed in a very carefully planned tourist area, and it was fine.
As much as we hate California and their suicidal policies, it is still a beautiful place, and it is worth saving as soon as we can drive all of the snakes out.
I'll also say something a little contrarian and say that I don't despise the SF Mayor... I'm sure she's a progressive and I'm sure she's no one I would ever vote for, but she can at least admit there's a huge problem in her city, and that's actual progress.

That's not unusual. They all admit that there are problems. What's wrong is that they never acknowledge that they are the cause of the problems. It's always somebody else's fault.

The same is true for most areas of the country, but I don't see anyone lining up to save Louisiana from its erosion problem nor its descent into an actual jungle of monkey fights.
But somehow the one state most responsible for basically all the worst aspects of our nation and the untold suffering that has brought is the one people always line up to try and save.
She looked like the typical black American politician in Democrat-controlled cities; corrupt and incompetent - who got voted into office on a wave of virtue signalling and race-grifting. She was forced to admit that there is a problem, only after things wildly spiraled out of control for years on end to the point where they're comparing the situation to post-9/11 New York City.
