There's also the fact that gen z and gen alpha are the most retarded to date, regardless of mRNA shots.
Potentially true.
We've consecutively recorded the lowest math and reading scores since they've started being recorded, IIRC, for like 6 years now.
Yup, and that's definitely an absolute travesty. Not sure if it would correlate to driving ability, though. It's got more to do with education; I don't think it's a reflection on anything such as inherent IQ. School is failing these people, but I doubt it's making them so retarded that they're just driving into shit and killing themselves. Although you never know, I suppose.
Also, I do think the spike is more recent. If, for the sake of argument, it weren't vax-related, it would likely be lockdown-related, as that was the other big event. Perhaps they're super anxious, and their reflexes aren't as good as they should be, for example. I think the vax is the most reasonable explanation, but that's just my personal opinion.
Let's not forget this is the generation that needed Subway Surfer playing in the background to get through even a 1 minute video on TikTok.
I think a significant part of that "retardation" has to do with low attention spans, due to being raised on dopamine drip-feeds (tablets) since they were 2 or 3.
Low attention spans -> less willing to read/work on problems -> less reading/working on problems -> suck ass at both.
Being inattentive/distractible while driving would definitely explain it.
Completely valid point, hadn't considered that. They could just be so teched out (among other causes of lowered attention) that they can't drive for shit.

As someone who admittedly spends too much time in front of a screen, that's always creeped me the hell out. Good lord, parents, try actually parenting. If/when I have kids, I certainly won't be giving them tech for quite some time. I'd be tempted to encourage them not to indulge until they're like 25, although then they end up retarded (at least in how they fit into society) in the other direction. But, yeah, no fucking way I'm giving one of my hypothetical kids tech when then two or three...or well after that. They need to grow up without tech so they know what it's like, before they start relying on it.
I remember the first few times I saw some fatass hand their toddler and iPad. WTF.
That's nothing new. Test scores have been declining for like 100 years. Every year we graduate either the worst class in history or very nearly the worst class in history.
Nah they were actually climbing up until around covid.
However, keep in mind that the scores being recorded that I'm referring to are consistently taken around age 13, not high school graduation, so its not necessarily a representation of what you're talking about.
