I'm no fan of Obama, but a 40 year old letter from when he was college aged full of bizarre and pretentious ideas that he could have written while he was high or drunk is not what's wrong with Obama.
Agree. But it is what's wrong with the media, for covering it up.
Its Obama. From the moment he walked into prominence they've been covering up literally everything about him, which is why fucking nobody knows shit about him to this day without having to go out of their way to search it out (while most know a decent amount of most President's backgrounds before and after their time).
The entire Birther movement was born of that. Because they were acting incredibly secretive about something that would otherwise have been easy and nothing to show, and it turned into a shitshow that people still don't believe is real (and for good reason).
The number of news stories all describing him as "rising political superstar Barack Obama" at the exact same time was all I needed to know something was off, but I didn't have the insight to know exactly what 20 years ago.
