I remember learning about those when I got curious, perhaps one could argue they're 'decorative' but the meaning behind them is very real, it's like warrior buddhist monks. People who don't know any better might take the piss out of the concept the fact is all these traditional weapons can easily be repurposed and put to use once again.
Arent they supposed to carry it at all times for religious/cultural reasons?

I believe it’s more ceremonial for religious practices, but the initial use, as far as I’m aware was defensive use against Muslims.
When you are so aggressively against Muslims you would literally fight 476:1 odds to the death rather than surrender.

Hollywood is out here demanding more "diversity" then they overlook stories like that of examples of badasses from other cultures.
