I'll write better garbage for half that if they want to hire me and I can't write for shit lul
I'd do it for a tenth considering how much I'm paid now and the time it would take even getting 25k a year would guarantee better quality that modern shit.
For an extra (and a contract saying how I'm not in any way culpable for the writing or the results of said writing) I'd even include whatever virtue signal they want and try to make it decent......no promises but it would still be better than modern shit
I could write better than they can with nothing but a box of old mad libs books and a bottle of whiskey. You'd have to go out of your way to write something as bad or worse than these clowns.
This part jumped out. "Investor pressure to make streaming profitable" is what caused a pay drop? Not...you know...their total failure of their responsibilities?
The Board has to pressure them to drop their salaries in order to make a profit? Who the fuck sets these companies up?
Good catch with the alternate title, OP. This headline is a great example of sneaking a losing argument or bad fact through under cover of a winning argument or more palatable fact, which is a common technique of the bullshit artist. Want sympathy for your dudes, but they make six figures on average? Camouflage the statement in a comparison to someone who makes a lot more! “Execs make exponentially more money than us” is an easy emotional appeal nowadays, so most supporters won’t even do the math here.
But how much of a percentage is gone to hush money, abortions and having more toxic chemicals injected into you than an oil refinery?
I'd be more sympathetic to the writers if they didn't openly hate me, try to vandalize every new adaptation of stories I liked, and genuinely want me fired for objecting to their vandalism. Since that's how it is, I'm glad they're suffering, they brought it on themselves, and I hope every one of them ends up homeless.
