As a life long gamer and comic book guy I always saw women who were interested in the hobbies, but not in the same numbers as men. I’ve always been a nerdy black guy and have loved sci-fi and fantasy since childhood. Not many blacks are into that stuff but nobody ever stopped me from reading Tolkien, Heinlein, Asimov, etc. I enjoy an occasional romance novel which is very female dominated. Nobody stops me from reading those.

Just as long as you watch out for Clarke. Because he's definitely on the naughty list. And by that I mean he pays to rape little boys.

There are a couple of his books that have very... disturbing... scenes about older guy/younger guy romantic relationships.
