Yes...ish. I still don't even like opening the door to that argument though. "Ugly," isn't the problem. That kind of uncanny valley, modern beauty standard thing is gross, and goes well beyond ugly. Also, to be clear, I'm talking in general, not Cyberpunk 2077.
There's a key different between "not attractive" (lots of cyberpunk genre characters), and this sort of intentional, downright unsettling ugly we're seeing in games and movies nowadays. Hell, unattractive people can still even be charismatic or badass; soldiers, mercenaries, crime bosses, mutants, etc. But characters who are ugly in this way are just gross.
I certainly don't demand everyone in games be "hot" or anything. I just don't want intentional ugly rubbed in my face. Grizzled? Scarred? Mutant? Old? Young? Maimed? Sure. Intentional ugly? Get out of my face.
They for sure made female V much uglier, not sure about the rest.
Pretty much most people in cyberpunk are ugly.. avg at best. Even the corpos. With all that tech, you can look like the hottest bitch ever.
