they killed the pubisher to bring it back soon with the new disney+ series.
There is a new series already in production with John Bernthal and if they follow the old netflix series it will probably be very faithful to the source material.
Edit: also, you can read almost all punisher comics in readcomiconline.li , I recommend a lot Punisher War Journal and Punisher Max.
I literally DO NOT understand how people still fall for this. This is Nu-Disney, you know that right? What has Nu-Disney been doing to EVERY major straight White male character in their properties? From Luke Skywalker, to Han Solo, to Indiana Jones, to Iron Man, to Captain America?
Spoiler alert: They've been replacing them.
They're only bringing back Bernthal because people loved his passion in portraying the Punisher. They will use the new series as a launch pad to replace him like they did with Hulk, Hawkeye and Captain America, or kill him off for good like they did with Luke Skywalker, Han Solo and Iron Man.
I recommend not giving Aaron the reading effort seeing as how he's the writer on the run which just killed off Frank, while also largely retconing 616 Frank Castle by changing his childhood, marriage, and entire center of being to more closely match that of the Frank Castle from Punisher Max.
Yeah, I'm sure that Disney+ is going to be super respectful to the source material.
