It's pretty similar to how DeSantis cultists (everyone running against him (even though he's not running) is a grifter!) are different from DeSantis supporters (this guy is doing some good stuff, let's see what happens with him).
If you are this triggered over accurately explaining how to distinguish between Trump cultists and supporters of Trump then you are the faggot here.
I myself was a Trump supporter since 2015 till 2021 just not a cultist. I loved many of his policies and thus tolerated the very flawed man that came with them.
In 2024, there is an alternative candidate who offers most of the same policies as Trump and even better execution of these policies in a much more polished form which is useful for winning swing voters who are needed to win 2024.
If you disagree with me, you are free to vote for whoever you want in the primary.
The author appears sincere. Unfortunately I was hoping for a positive description of a "not cultist" Trump supporter to compare to, but he doesn't provide that. Here are the bullet points for people who don't care to click:
you refuse to vote for the nominee against a Democrat
you lie or misrepresent to make your pro-Trump point
you think Trump can do no wrong
you think Trump is the only possible answer
you liked Ron DeSantis prior to 2023 but suddenly don’t like him now
you use religious iconography or in any way compare Trump to Jesus or portray him as more pious than he really is (I'll assume he gives allowance for tongue-in-cheek memes?)
you uncritically believe everything Trump says about political rivals
you automatically dismiss legitimate criticism as being untrue or done in bad faith
So good news! If these don't apply to you, but some weirdo online calls you a Trump cultist anyway, you may freely call him a TDS-afflicted shill right back.
I only see the religious iconography paired with Trump from Q anon believing boomers.
Larry Schwiekart is sadly a prime example of this. That man was a respected conservative history professor before he went full Trump cultist and posted pictures of Jesus Christ placing his hands on Trump's shoulder and Trump riding a lion.

Jesus we need a Mnemosyne bot in here. Also townhall went full tds, so they're as reasonable as salon at this point. Also opinion...
This has to be my favorite one. How can anyone look at Trump's life and think he's a Christian?

This is what cultism looks like.
