And they proved that by ... completely shutting down their business in Utah and preventing under-aged people from accessing their website.
You won’t let us show underage kids porn?! Well no porn for you!
We all know who was upset by it
The only issue is that advanced age verification crap is a privacy risk, which is why security minded people do not support it.
Nothing can be done about kids accessing porn other than mandatory age gates and warning people about how showing kids porn violates anti-grooming laws to stop non predatory retards from doing it.
Correct. This is another example of stupid right-wingers falling for a govt trap. Parents are responsible for their children's internet browsing, not the fucking government. Pissing internet privacy down the drain because you're a lazy parent is the dumbest shit imaginable.
Why can't kids get fake IDs with fake names and addresses in Texas or whatever? I think 21 for drinking age is so dumb because everyone 18 and up (if not younger) has fake IDs so what is the point. Everyone over 21 knows everyone under 21 can get drinks any time they want. It's just a fucking game. So stupid. Porn is actually a better thing to try to keep away from young people, or people in general tbh.
Is all the RealID crap they're adding to IDs not enough for the machines to distinguish fakes? That was what mattered back in my day.
Of course, you can't ultimately keep 18 year olds from drinking.
There is one solution, but it would mean going to a heavily regulated Intranet and restricted Internet approach like North Korea's Kwangmyong.
Worryingly I can see this becoming more of a reality in the next decade or so.
Otherwise it's impossible. It will just go to the dark web.
Nothing can be done to stop minors who are determined to access porn from accessing it. At best, you can keep kids from accidentally running into it. Though even that is more their parents' responsibility.
