I think you might be remembering 50 Shades, which also did the exact same "repeat the story but from the guy's perspective" plot (because why stop copying after you become a millionaire) to a big controversy for revealing both how creepy he was and ruining the mystery of their perfect boyfriend.

As far as I'm aware, no, not for these specific versions. Probably due to the aforementioned lack of marketing and thus lack of sales.
