I'm actually thinking we're seeing the comics losing to manga but in beer form.
The initial woke shit got people to stop buying it and move on to other beer but I'm betting the majority if not all have gone 'shit, this tastes way better than that pisswater and/or cheaper too' and so they are lost forever.
It's extremely hard to lose a loyal costumer but if you do, then they aren't ever coming back
It probably doesn't help that even in the Pisswater market, they had competition with minimal cost difference and the same garbage taste. So it was entirely inertia that kept their consumer base, and any amount of shaking to that is impossible to recover from.

As a comic book collector I wish you would’ve given that lesson to Marvel and DC.
