Not too long ago we had this post about Daniel pushing Trans shit and now we have this news, it's like cosmic karma
We all have mixed opinions on J K Rowling, from 'she's a bitch but I like she's pissing off the people I despise' to 'she's evil incarnate funding a male genocide' but this is really funny as pointed out in this recent Clownfish video
Essentially, the Twitter 'boycott' (cough harassment campaign) might have caused this to be green lit as WB made BANK with that game thanks to the amount of attention it got (and I'm sure some vtuber fans bought it to piss off the twitter freaks) so they may focus on Harry Potter more and with Rowling as Executive producer, there ain't going to be any trans shit. This also takes away the star power of all the film stars now turning on Rowling despite her work being the reason they have any fame.
I got no bone in this fight but I'd love it to be successful with a white Hermoine just because it'll be 10 years of rubbing it in these narcissistic freaks faces.
You're really grading her on a curve there. If someone turns lead into gold I'm not going to call them a has-been for not doing it twice.
And to be fair, redoing the 8 films that average what, an hour and fourty-five minutes a piece, into possible an 8-12 episode season for each book where each episode is 45minutes to an hour maybe, that could put this upwards of 8 hours or even longer per season, which is far more time to actually go over the books and not have to cut nearly as much to make a feature length film.
As much shit as I give for the franchise splitting the last book into two films which was the cause of every other fucking film series doing it, honestly it needed it, I couldn't imagine them trying to get all that they did into just one film even if they made it two and a half hours long, it just wouldn't have worked with how much would need to be done.
If GRRM tried to do the reverse where after Game of Thrones ended he announced he was going to make each book a single film, there's just no fucking way that it would be anyway coherent with how much would have to be cut and rushed just to fit the run time
Because give Chris Columbus credit he did a pretty great job adapting the first three books into the films and kept as much relevant information with the time he had and it's just not easy when you have so many child actors simply due to the restrictions you'd have when shooting.
Sure the films had the benefit of Richard Harris, Maggie Smith and Alan Rickman who were phenomenal actors who really helped carry the story.
It would be interesting to see more age appropriate casting because Gary Oldman and every other character who played the Potters and friends, were all cast as older because JKR really wanted Alan Rickman to play Snape, which since they were all supposed to be the same age and Alan was already like 55 years old at that time, when rough estimate would have Snape and the others maybe mid 30's, if that, by the time Harry first gets to Hogwarts. So they were all cast older actors to fit the roles.
Because James and Lily went on to fight Voldemort right after graduating, then we got that prophecy of Harry being born, then he was like a year and a few months old when Voldemort attacked, the Potters would really only have been maybe 20 or 21 years old when they died, so they should look really young actually rather than the middle aged looks whenever we see them.
So it would be nice to get a cast that fits a bit better because she can't recast Alan Rickman into the role of Snape again.
Ooof, but Rickman will be such a difficult act to follow.
It'd almost be better if they just animated the thing.
