I keep seeing people like critical drinker recommend it,but I find it hard to take their opinions on this particular show seriously since they don't seem to be bothered by the really obnoxious black washing. Other times I respect his opinion though. Given that the targaryens are supposed to be an inbred 'pure' family, the idea that they would have anything to do with folks who look very different from them just completely ruins the immersion and world building for me. I can buy that you might have had valerians with dark skin, but there is no way targaryens would be marrying them. I suppose my main question is who is married to who in the show then. Apologies for the long winded nature of the post.

My thoughts exactly. It's just that alot of the you tubers I normally respect like drinker and shaderdiversity give it glowing reviews. I just can't understand why this doesn't bother them when it's so blatent.
I was surprised they liked it so much and I thought the race swap was dumb. I’m going to get the book eventually. I’ve heard people say outside of the race swap and some girl power moments it’s not bad but I wonder if it’s a situation where it’s good by modern entertainment standards. If they wanted black ppl they could’ve done a Summer Isle show but i wouldn’t trust modern HBO doing a show like that without injecting modern day themes. Targaryens were clearly described in the books like you said
You need to consider this woke shit on a spectrum & give the "less woke" shit a chance, otherwise you're just an old curmudgeon on your porch yelling at the damn kids.
It very much was and was extremely immersion-breaking. Hilariously, everyone in the show totally ignores the fact that the blacks are a different race. Truly a racially blind society like we ought to have IRL.
True and that's my take as well. Some faggotry in it, too. I forget now but there was 1 scene that pissed me off with the faggotry and how it was handled where there is a feast & a dance. It made no sense and was just stupid drama.
You should know by now that the game is for libs to have blacks steal white roles (not like the actors are doing it, they're just collecting their pay check), not to do anything on their own, because they can't make good shit on their own. It's a game that is played for the lib elites to trick blacks into staying loyal to the Left even though the Left keeps them as a permanent underclass.
And that's how overton window pushing works folks.
You are right. I’ll get around to watching it I’m sure but I’ll probably just read the book. I guess my main annoyance is that Martin can work on all these other things but can’t finish Winds of Winter
I just cannot get over the race swapping. Even if its good there's just things that I can't unsee. It ruins the immersion of the show the same way the later seasons of GoT got ruined by dumb decisions.
"There's never been a blonde Baratheon."
"Targaryens must keep their bloodline pure to maintain the ability to control dragons."
I've seen this show!
