Basically a complete rewrite of Peach's character. They even had to get a voice actor who sounds about 50lbs heavier than Peach looks.

Why does this version of Peach even need Mario in the first place? What the fuck is helping her for?

The Damsel in Distress is a trope because it's instantly understandable and reflects reality.
