It's like they were this close to a vault load of cash because of how HARD AC fans wanted a Japanese samauri and Shinobi setting....just to trip the laser and alarm by going 'the Samauri is female and the Shinobi is black'
For fucks sake, it's like Ubisoft want to die with this idiotic move. You might have gotten away with a female Shibobi as many geishas worked as spies too but not black.
Like was said in the other post, a female Samurai could at least be somewhat believable, especially if they went for the angle of "wife of the samurai getting revenge on his killers". But I highly doubt that is what Ubi is planning on doing here.
And I'm willing to put money on another thing considering it's Ubisoft:
The woman won't even be attractive either.
Yeah, those are what I was referring to.
Fun fact: the practice still has influence in Modern Japan, and it is why every anime where there are girls in high school almost always has them practicing Kendo or archery (since they were the skills an Onna-Bugiesha was expected to know).
The most hilarious part is they could have easily just swapped. You are the black slave trying to become a samurai for Oda Nobunaga and kunoichis were a things (though mostly seducers than sneaky peeps but people don't need to know that part).
The black slave thing though still doesn't sound right as wasn't the only outside trade they had was with the Dutch only or is the game set even before then. Where the fuck would a black person even get onto Japan when it finally took an American armada to open them up for trade.
Ye I don't believe it either but it has become so accepted that I think they could get away with it.
Japan also had trade with the portugueses, and Portugal had many black slaves.
But taking them to Japan? I don't think so especially considering they were on such thin ice with the Japanese that eventually led the Christian rebellion that saw Christian converts try to overthrow the government
...it didn't go well, the rebels all die, Christianity and Portuguese where banned from Japan and the Dutch became the only trading partner.....because they traded guns to the government during the rebellion.
