The reason Shakespeare was performed by crossdressed men was because women were not worthy of being in plays.
See, this is the only way you can actually stop women invading our spaces.
You getting upvoted for having very similar takes to myself is interesting.
Now I feel less bad.
this. faggot is a faggot ignoring historical context.
in 1500s england, women and non-whites were not allowed to perform at all.
today, it's only slightly shifted... women are allowed to perform only if they have sex with a producer/director, and non-jews are allowed to perform only if their manager or agent is jewish.
Women yes.
Non-whites? That term didn't even existed in England. "Moors", I suppose they could have been allowed to preform... if there existed any in England, but there wouldn't have been. Same with muslims. It wouldn't have made sense. They wouldn't have needed to restrict any, because there wouldn't have BEEN any.
they already knew of moors as the moors had ruled over spain. so yeah, non-whites.
I didn't say they didn't know what moors were, that's what Othello was about.
I'm saying they wouldn't have had any moors. Again, non-whites would not have been a concept, because 'white' wasn't a concept. For the most part, that's an American anachronism that can't be adopted to Europe, let alone high medieval Europe.
You could have stopped after the second line, the rest is pure tinfoil. MeToo wasn't real.
Me Too was a political move by which some whores in Hollywood used the fact that whoring yourself out is an effective way to advance your Hollywood career as a tool to replace the old Hollywood elite with themselves.
Yes, exactly. Women used MeToo to make their fictional "rape culture" look real and seize power over the instruments of propaganda that they need to dehumanize men.
I was gonna say, this is not the own he was thinking he would make.
I actually thought he was going to say, "I was concerned about doing the play, but I realized it would be about a heterosexual white couple, and I was afraid the actors would be attacked during the play."
And even then, the men knew they were only acting as women.
