I've heard how they are trying to pin this on the armourer, unfortunately for Alec and the people in charge, the FEDs got the text messages sent between them all and she was effectively removed from being an armourer to be more in charge of props BECAUSE she kept highlighting safety concerns and the fact Alec wouldn't give her back the guns immediately after shooting
On the day of the incident, she was there with them all for her trying to put some safety on set but told to go away to deal with a prop issue, after she was gone, Alec shot 2 people and she raced back. So she's pretty much innocent, Alec, the production managers are ALL in the shit for this.
Did she load the gun? Did Alec? That’s literally all that matters.
Nope, Alec pulled the trigger, Alec didn't check the gun, and he intentionally disregarded a bunch of safety measures and admitted to such. Alec is and was always at fault, no matter the other circumstances.

OOF. When the seemingly incompetent armourer still raises safety concerns, only to be ignored and then blamed. That's super damning, since she was far from perfect or competent herself. What an absolute shitshow that set must have been, wow!

I heard it was the production staff that had left the gun there to be used, she was affectively left out of the cold from managing the weapons.
And also basic gun rules is you ALWAYS check the gun, if it's in your hands, it's YOUR responsibility!
He disregarded the first two rules of gun safety pretty blatantly.
1.) Treat every gun as if it is loaded.
2.) Never point a gun at something you are not prepared to destroy.
Actors point guns at each other all the time.
