In other words, it's "get woke, go broke" except it's the whole economy going broke because of scummy woke totalitarians pushing their scummy woke behaviour on everyone.
More specifically, this is the wind down from the cold panic finally catching up to Big tech. everyone and their mother invested in big tech during the pandemic because everyone was thinking about the future being digitized, metaversed, etc etc. now that nobody really cares about the cold anymore, and people have by and large snapped back to reality, big tech companies are no longer being showered with free money.
Yeah, if you check out the stock prices among a number of different companies, you notice that a lot of big tech got a massive increase around 2020 when the lockdowns happened, peaked around November 2021 in value, and it's been downhill since then. There's also plenty of non-tech companies that show the same trend. Nike, Puma, Under Armor, all of them follow the same general trend of rising post-2020 before dropping like a rock near the end of Nov 2021.
Yeah, their 2020 growth wasn't an evidence of a growing economy, it was an evidence of inflation.
It wasn't fixed, so the economy crashed and their share prices too.
I've noticed this trend really started taking off after Elon cleaned house at Twitter. Correlation and causation and all that, but I can't help but wonder if the heads of these companies started realizing just how bloated and mismanaged they are. A big part of the issue is that positions are being hired to fill people. You also have a lot of employees who are hired to fill actual positions doing a poor job. There's a lot of fat to trim.

"Get woke, destroy the entire world economy" doesn't have the same ring to it

Points to woke companies. Ignores wokeness.

A lot of these companies are still hiring for certain positions. Which means they are trimming the fat, not floundering.
This isn’t wokeness. Besides they’ve been woke forever
Even 8 years ago they vowed “ to hire fewer White men “
I am saying that those getting fired are woke.
