Tate gets huge attention from feminist hate-watchers. This huge attention, in turn, drives enough eyeballs to him that he gets some fans, plus there is backlash against the feminists from guys like me. I don't even like Tate, I think he's a loser and a grifter, but I hate feminists more.
Modern social media culture is all about picking 1 person and having them personify a "side" in the culture war. Then this 1 person is given enormous attention. Tate was chosen as the avatar of "toxic masculinity". It's his enemies that fueled his rise, not his fans. And this is by design. Tate is an insecure douchebag and a horrible representative for men and masculinity.
Also I saw the "leaks" of the evidence against him and it looks like total bullshit. 0 evidence of any wrongdoing from him personally. Some evidence of wrongdoing from his Romanian "bottom hoes" who acted as managers for some cam girls, and sometimes threatened them. Unless there is evidence they were saying those things at Tate's direction, which I seriously doubt, then afaik there is no evidence against him to support a prosecution, and he was a target purely for political reasons because of the negative attention he gets and how he shit talks Romania.
I think he was legitimately growing among younger viewers, but a lot of the people in our circles knew almost nothing about him. We're not really Tate's target audience, so to us it seemed like he just appeared out of nowhere.
The entire Tate thing caught me by surprise. I did not give 2 fucks about him and thought he was just a small time grifter.
How did we get top this point?

The nerve!

Tate being struck down in this way sent a clear message of who controls what can be said.
I'm guessing some people are taking this as the last stand against an unaccountable, narcissistic and sadistic female elite.
