He is a devout Christian so that’s no surprise he gets called that. I remember when I watched ESPN more how they attacked him because he criticized the excessive coverage that gay seventh round pick got.

They're becoming more open about what they are though. Tolerance was the rallying cry of the radical left when it was a minority. Now that they are in the driver's seat, there is no need for such pretensions.

They've been smearing Tony Dungy for many years now, so much that even I as a European know the name 'Tony Dungy'.
That said, this is a particularly unhinged rant by some bug-chaser at The Advocate, a homosexual activist magazine. If you take offense at a pastor saying that homosexuals should have a warning sign on their forehead saying that it is hazardous to your health, maybe you should encourage safer practices.
It's also noteworthy that Tony Dungy just a few days ago called out Scientific American for claiming that Murican football is racist. I wonder if this is retaliation for that.
One of the most threatening things to globohomo/the GAE is a man who simply does his job, does it well, and refuses to participate.
It shows the masses that participation is optional, not mandatory, and because he does his job well, he's harder to blacklist.
