Not normally one to be optimistic, but you could have pretty effective scares for modern audiences.

I'm picturing themes of:
You'll never be a woman
FBI Crime Statistics are real
You are paid what you're worth

If that doesn't work, maybe just have Stonetoss comics hanging on the walls in the apartments or something.
