Okay, so next up is some good Hack & Slash games that you played this year. Be sure to let us know if you've got any good videos of watch of some playthroughs, and if it's on sale anywhere.
As was previously shown to me we can use this to check on deals: https://isthereanydeal.com/
And how about the Most Aggressive Propaganda? I feel like this might end up including the Trump Raid, the Balenciaga Scandal, the fact that the G-Word has been banned because certain big tech oligarchs support bad things to children, the attempts to cover over the Loudon County rapes, attempts to distract from the Twitter Files, and of course: the all-sides propaganda round the Ukraine War
For Most Aggressive Leftist Propaganda: I nominate: Anti-Russian Hysterics.
There is a fucking reason I had to make a post stating that I would not tolerate explicit anti-Russian ethnic hatred as a moral imperative. At the beginning of the year, western media outlets decided that only Ukranian Nationalism is acceptable in the west, to a degree which is not even present in Ukraine, and which is not tolerated for our own countries.
I'm not saying that Ukraine, or even Zelenski are Nazis. But the Azov Battalion fucking was, and while people were making excuses to why we should send as many weapons as possible at the cost of our own economy to support actual Nazis, all of us were being declared Nazis because we think race riots and lockdowns are bad. Worst of all: we don't support Criminalism.
It is fucking infuriating that the Progressives returned to their fucking bad-old-days, and re-established Jingoist Racialism, and were prepared to tolerate ethnic violence and discrimination against Russians generally. Not the Russian military, just Russians, both in America and abroad, just to virtue signal that they are the people they warn us about when they start talking about World War One.
What exactly was the crime that the "Russian" cats committed again? Perhaps you should summon "The Ghost of Kiev" to do battle with them, you idiots.
Russian cats, Russian ice cream, Russian mustard. The batshit insane frenzy the average "person" was whipped into by the media, first over a cold and then over an unremarkable conflict between two parts of the former USSR, gives everyone with the head screwed on right a good look into what was happening in the 30s (and then 50s) in the middle of Europe. Everyone thinks they'd never stand for it, that they'd speak up and fight the regime - and then they go and furiously type yet another comment about how the subhumans must be eliminated (by someone else of course!), spittle flying and all. These are the people who will cheer as their neighbors get taken away by the state, never to be seen again.
But it's not jingoist racialism, it's not jingoistic and it's not racial, that would require actual thought. It's just screeching. These people were unironically driven insane by propaganda.
I'd also like to nominate a subset of the anti-Russian hysterics, the NAFO thing from twitter, as the absolute gayest goddamn thing I have ever seen the glowies produce. It's meme AIDS, spread by trannies who jerk themselves raw over people they've never seen dying while sitting in their goon cave in their embarassed parents' basement, and it was all designed in a meeting room - some very serious people from the US intel community had meetings and decided to start posting badly photoshoped dogs all over twitter. What the fuck.
Re: Games - does Vampire Survivors count? I'm not sure what else I'd call the genre (I mean it's a roguelite, but other than that). It's super cheap, it's not complicated, and you can play just a single run for 30 or less minutes and then close it and go do something else, which is perfect for me. I've spent a good number of hours with it over the last maybe 2 months. It's one of those easy to learn, hard to master things.
I wonder if the public will reach the “freedom fries” level of hysteria. Luckily for Russians most of their cuisine doesn’t incorporate their countries name
That was Freedom Fries levels of crazy. There were American businesses dumping Polish Vodka because it sounded Russian.
And to be clear. "Freedom Fries" were roundly mocked, not seen a brave support against terrorism.
Well I was more so thinking foods like chicken Kiev, borscht, golumpkis, pierogis etc
Not much actual Russian vodka in USA. The USA has a lot of grain and distilleries so most of our stuff is domestic. It's not like Scotch where provenance is important
We already reached that point in Poland, but with pierogi instead of fries. The most popular kind of pierogi with potato, onion and cottage cheese filling which are traditionally called "Pierogi Ruskie".
Since February many shops changed the name to "Ukrainian Pierogi" to avoid promoting Russia, even when "Ruskie" part of the name came from old polish name for Ukraine (Ruś).
Fucking idiots.
Oof as an American from a polish blended city the ruskie pierogies were still in place here
I'll grant you that it's not a genuine desire for Useful Idiot Default Leftist Americans to re-assert racialism and jingoism openly. But it disgusts me how they can be so easily wielded as a fucking weapon to destroy everything they claim to be for. Jingoism is bad, but screaming "Slava Ukrainea!" and in order to try and create an offensive war against Russia ("the only way we'll solve this is by going to Moscow, removing Putin, and breaking Russia up" - real quote from IRL)... I can't fucking stand it. This is why I've said "You will support death camps" to some Australians who were calling for Covid Camps. It's because they will. So long as TV Man comes on and tells them that Death Camps are the only answer, they will be 100% behind putting their own children in a gas chamber.
I say yes. Got any playthroughs or a link where people can download or play it?
Agreed.
There's a free browser-based version, it only has one stage (and in a very old version) but it gives you the basic gist of it. https://poncle.itch.io/vampire-survivors
Other than that, it's on Steam for a couple bucks including the new DLC (that's, like, $2). No GOG version so far, sadly.
