Hey, guys. I run a fork of the game Cortex Command, which is a 2d pixel-physics retro-rtt-shooter game that went open source a while back. We want to both improve the game's content and C++ source and foster a strong modding community, since the modding system and Lua scripting are uniquely intuitive and powerful.
This is an open invitation to all the people here that feel that there is no place for them in the indie-open-source space. We're sane people and the only limitations on free speech are if you're an obvious glowie or you completely ruin the chat. We also stand in direct opposition to another, trooned-out fork of the game you may or may not have heard of.
We're particularly looking for people that have been aching for a project like this to contribute to that isn't run by disgusting people, but obviously we invite anyone that just wants to hang out too.

Unfortunately most of my programming skills are in the machine learning/AI area and I'm still quite a novice. Still it's nice to see that some sane people are getting together and building something that isn't beholden to the Church of Girl Dick.

Essentially to make a years long story short they're incompetent retards who split the community for dumb reasons. We've gotten more shit done then them despite being far smaller. If you have any more questions also they're fucking trying to sabotage us they deleted our mod page claiming it's a copy of their's and then acting smug about it and more then likely nuking our Discord. If you have any more questions I'll try and answer.
Hey, so am i, but it bassicly rooted in the fact that we wanted to hold a big revival project for the game beacuse of our sheer love to it, then one ex "friend" of us was asked to hold the servers ownership after hoovy here wasnt available beacuse he was an head admin, when he was back he didnt give it back, beacuse hes too unfathombly based for his feeble mind to handle, so he held a vote which the patrons werent allowed to participate in, says fuckall about fuckanything and gets all the local lurkers to vote against hoovy but eventaully gave up ownership on the condition that demanded that a new server thats there only for discussing project features and how to improve it in general be made, generally a devlog thingy, while his server stays a community hangout, then a bunch of years later after they get bigger and people move from us to them they start to cut all lies and declare hoovy ultimate evil while the head admin guy who previously took over ownership which consisted of alphabet mafia guys in their 30s that are furries and the like, which actually groomed a best friend of mine which i used to have that i met within that community
my part in this is that i was there with hoovy from before all this, and i can tell you that these dudes take every chance they get at mass reporting us, at absolutely condemning people that are even remotely related to us, so after a few deleted discord servers we decided to take up matters into our hands, and this is our humble invitation for it
Mike here's been in the community before even I, he was the first to join the old server in fact, I found it though Mandalore's Metal Arms video where there was a forum thread for it.
they've managed to get a few code monkeys (i insult monkeys here) to type away at the c++ source, but you know evil cannot create, so any actual content they come up with is pitiful. for instance, mods used to be the core part of CC, but they keep driving off all the modders with actual good ideas so they're just left with the sorta trash the few modder trannies they have can come up with. i left them with some very good content, out of pity for all the clueless players showing up, and they've taken to deleting it just out of pure seethe.
none of that compares to the awful atmosphere though... i don't have to tell you about that, do i?

the steam game is just the original pre-open-source, but the one mentioned in that one announcement is the tranny fork i mentioned.
