“I had to out myself as transgender,” said Seaton, now 24. He had legally changed his name at the time, but the gender marker on his Tennessee ID still said “female.” That outing, he said, “can be brutally dangerous, especially where I was living, which is a conservative suburb.”
Riiigghhttt, those evil conservatives are going to hunt you down for you gender delusional cosplaying…
“It’s not just embarrassing, but it’s terrifying to have to do that — to try to read the room and see, like, are they going to kick me out? It can be really dehumanizing to have your whole identity nitpicked just so that you can cast your ballot and have your voice be heard,” added Seaton, a transgender justice advocate for the American Civil Liberties Union of Tennessee.
So your self absorbed victimhood of things that didn’t actually happen means we should lower voter ID laws?
“People who might be inclined to harass marginalized voters at the polls are more aware of trans people’s existence,” said Olivia Hunt, the policy director at the National Center for Transgender Equality. “So I expect that we’re going to hear more stories of trans people being harassed, whether by voters, poll workers, poll monitors or other folks who are present during the election.”
Harassed= Made to verify their ID…
As of October, 35 states require or request voters to show ID at the polls, which can be a barrier for transgender people who don’t have an ID that reflects their legal name or gender identity. Nine states require people who change their name to publish an announcement. Georgia, Indiana, Missouri and Wyoming have both a voter ID law and a name publication requirement.

Proponents of voter identification laws say they prevent fraud and protect election integrity, but critics say they disproportionately affect Black voters, students, the elderly, disabled people, those who are low-income and trans voters.
For example, 8% of white eligible voting-age citizens didn’t have valid government-issued photo IDs, compared with 25% of Black voting-age citizens and 16% of Hispanics, according to 2012 data from the nonpartisan Brennan Center for Justice at the New York University School of Law.
You mean people make choices?! Next you’ll say we can’t use ID to verify age for menthol cigarettes because racism. There’s no barrier to stop them from getting an ID.
They always whine about having to out themselves.
Manlet, with a bowtie, weak facial hair, round baby face, narrow shoulders-wide hips, girly speech patterns and gestures... but I am sure you needed to flash your ID to "out yourself" girlfriend.
Years of reddit and "totally valid" posting has convinced far too many trannies they pass, so they believe that the ID really is the only thing to contradict it.
