So I was messaging u/Smith1980 and u/Devidose about this because of mentioned comic interests and posts going back some time on both this site and Reddit and decided to make a rant post about it as well just to let others know it's not just woke stupidity fucking things up at the bigger comic companies.
Then again maybe it is woke stupidity if it involved diversity hires fucking up their jobs.
The OP is taken from a comic in Marvel's current crossover event: AXE: Avengers vs X-Men vs Eternals. I've posted about this event previously here:
https://kotakuinaction2.win/p/15JAXeEMKO/marvelous-subtlety/c/
Now while that post is about woke stupidity this post is not. Instead if's about how someone, [one of Drew Baumgartner, Mark Basso, Jordon D White, or C B Cebulski as they are the Editors credited in this issue], somewhere didn't pick up on the fact a comic that came out today, [X-Force #33], which was still out of order going by the above image as everything up to Legion of X #6 had already come out by last week, managed to include a final page that literally spoils the ending to a 3 month long event.
The final page shows something that is the literal plot device of the whole event after the event has ended.
So after 3 months of fairly woke free comics the event falls not to some stupid idealogical sperging but because someone, or someones because as posted above there are 4 Editors credited in this comic of varying rank, didn't think that including such an image BEFORE THE EVENT ENDED was a bad idea.
I'm just glad I don't pay for this shit.
Everything seems to be suffering from incompetence. Woke diversity hire shit is part of it, but a lot of it is just the complete loss of passion and commitment. Everything is just this disposable consumer product now rather than a labor of love.
Don't ask questions. Just consume product and get excited for next product.
Can't help but laugh at how fucking retarded this was. Every comment I've seen about it on the high seas has picked up on the fact the issue ends with a spoiler so how the fuck did someone making or reviewing the comic not so so?
The answer is probably fairly obvious, and while some might consider it elitist it's because the writers and editors don't care about their work as much ar the readers. It's a fallacy but fuck it I'm Scottish so I get to play it: the writers and editors aren't true fans.
The event has had others problems throughout relating to editorial issues such as Kid Omega repeatedly showing up in panels despite the fact he died just before it started. Wasn't even a case of a single issue making the same error a few times, it was multiple issues repeatedly screwing up.
I do appreciate the info.
