There is no sexuality in Oz, you dumb creepy perverts. There is no sex in Oz. Baum didn't write heterosexuality (also known as "normal, regular") or homosexuality, because his stories were light fairy-tales for children.
Stop inserting your weird, obsessive pervert thoughts into everything, including media for children.
I remember Highschool when they told me Wizard of Oz was an allegory to modern times, even though none of that was true when Baum wrote it. They can't imagine a world that is just love and whimsy.
You can interpret anything into anything really. That's why I don't listen to any interpretations, don't read any and back in school I would fight with teachers because they didn't agree with my interpretation of stories, speeches etc.

That only encourages them to sexualize these stories.

Yeah, I remember this feeling, too…
Always very irritating to be told “No, your interpretation of this fictional story *is wrong! How can you think it is anything other than X!”
Harry Chapin (I think) - “Flowers Are Red” comes to mind… 😑
It was actually about the gold standard and fiat currency
No it wasn't. I've heard several commentaries, and none of them would have been at the right time. All of them come several decades after the fact.
