Don't you worry, they'll never come close to equaling the $21 billion that the Americans left for the Taliban after they got their asses kicked by goatherds, after spending $2 trillion, and having their soldiers blown up by "sworn enemies of the Taliban" whom the Taliban had broken out of prison.
$21 billion that the Americans left for the Taliban
I doubt it was that much, or anywhere near. Most of the value would have been in the relatively small number of aircraft, the vast majority of which fled to neighboring countries like Uzbekistan. And also, what equipment was left was given to the Afghan Army, which chose not to fight because they simply didn't believe in the cause they were asked to fight for (equal rights for women).
Okay so I looked it up: the TOTAL spent on equipment (and transport) for Afghanistan since 2001 = $18 billion. However, this does not mean there was $18 billion of shit lying around in 2021 for the Taliban to take. First, we'd have to eliminate what was spent on transportation, which isn't broken out. Second, obviously a large portion of the remainder would have broken down or worn out or gotten lost over the course of 20 years, and a significant amount would have been spent on maintenance and repairs. The US counted 73 aircraft left behind that were totally gutted and inoperable before the US left. What was operable almost all took off and flew to neighboring countries. The only evidence I've seen of anything flying that got left behind was a few helicopters.
So this is where you are just lying. Americans never "got their asses kicked" by the Taliban, and of course the Taliban were not "goatherds" regardless, just like the NVA were not "rice farmers". The United States clearly and decisively won all combat as a rule in Afghanistan.
You can say the US lost the war because of a failure of political will, but you cannot say we got our "asses kicked". That's just factually untrue. So the question is, why do you feel the need to lie? The answer is: to salt the wound. And the question is why do you need to salt the wound? The answer is: because you have a serious problem with butthurt over the United States that clouds your ability to use logic and reason. It's like TDS but over America.
It's what the so called "fact-checkers" claimed when people said the number was $80 billion - which they claimed included the training.
Most of the value would have been in the relatively small number of aircraft
Which I hope was sold to the Chinese for inspection and reverse engineering.
Americans never "got their asses kicked" by the Taliban, and of course the Taliban were not "goatherds" regardless, just like the NVA were not "rice farmers".
The NLF were.
The United States clearly and decisively won all combat as a rule in Afghanistan.
And Pyrrhus of Epirus also decisively won all combat in the first two years. He still had to stage a humiliating withdrawal, like another country.
You can say the US lost the war because of a failure of political will
We didn't get our asses kicked because "political will" is quite a claim. That's what the French claimed after World War II. Of course, there was no way they could have won after their main armies had been surrounded due to disastrous military decisionmaking.
The answer is: because you have a serious problem with butthurt over the United States that clouds your ability to use logic and reason. It's like TDS but over America.
I hate the corrupt criminals who rule over me far more than I hate the United States. But to answer your question: because the said corrupt criminals are your puppets. And because you have no principles (and neither do your puppets). You care about Russia invading a corrupt puppet country because Russia is your enemy and that country is your puppet. When Azerbaijan invades Armenia, you don't give a damn, in fact, your puppets are funding the Azeri war machine. And yet you're not even honest about it, that this is 100% and solely about your own interests, not about the "rules-based international order" which is Western hegemony that should be smashed.
See, the problem is that I have to say 'you' here, while I do believe that you are well-intentioned. Your criminal government, on the other hand... (I'm shocked that a government which shoots 14-year-old boys who are its own citizens at Ruby Ridge has no problem exterminating 14-year-old boys in other countries en masse.)
That's what the French claimed after World War II.
The French were defeated on the battlefield. The US was not.
And Pyrrhus of Epirus also decisively won all combat in the first two years.
No, he by definition did NOT win DECISIVELY, hence the term "Pyrrhic Victory", which means when you technically win, but you take such high casualties that you are effectively defeated regardless since you are forced to retreat. Again, this didn't happen with the US. The US basically suffered 0 combat casualties for years and years leading up to the withdrawal since we only had a small footprint left in support positions and that was enough to keep the Taliban down UNTIL Biden decided to pull all support, which caused the Afghans to collapse and give up. The Afghans were still fighting and capable of winning in 2020, but then collapsed in 2021 very quickly after Biden totally abandoned them. And the Biden admin KNEW this is why it was going to shit and didn't reverse course because the Democrats wanted out, even if it was going to be ugly.
The NLF were.
Most Viet Cong were a combat force, not rice farmers, and they got utterly destroyed when they tried to launch a major offensive, the Tet Offensive. SOME civilians affiliated with the VC were "rice farmers", but they didn't engage in combat, they did shit like planting mines and traps.
But to answer your question: because the said corrupt criminals are your puppets.
You give the US too much credit. Our leaders are too incompetent to puppet anyone.
And because you have no principles
I have principles. The Democrats don't, they just want power, globohomo, and to impose their weird, destructive socialist ideology. You need to understand that the Democrats are only about half the US, and the other half, myself included, have plenty of principles and oppose them. That said, you could see from the Trump presidency that Trump could not go up against the deep state by himself and win. This is going to be a generational struggle and my hope is that DeSantis or someone similar can finally start to roll back the Left's control of government.
You care about Russia invading a corrupt puppet country because Russia is your enemy and that country is your puppet.
I didn't want Russia to be my enemy. There were many times since the 1990s where I and other conservatives thought "Hey Russia, the Cold War is over, let's join forces and both kill some fucking terrorists, okay?" but sadly, Putin didn't want to make nice with us and wanted to keep the Cold War going in his own way. The Democrats even embarrassingly did the Reset button but again, Russia wasn't interested. Okay, then. If Putin wanted to keep us as an enemy, I guess he can get his wish.
I oppose Russian (or Chinese or anyone else) empire-building because it constitutes a threat to the world economic and trade order that underlies western prosperity and GDP growth. I wouldn't mind at all if 3rd world countries were colonies of European countries and exploited for resources like the old days. If anything, that would just benefit the whole world. But Russia and China want to OVERTHROW and REPLACE the western-led economic order, and that fucks with my money, so fuck them, they can get fucked wrecked in a war and kept in their place.
Ukraine might be corrupt by EU standards, but not as corrupt as Russia.
Ukraine has never been a US puppet. Instead, it was simply a democratic country that wanted to turn away from Russia and towards the EU. It will likely fully join the EU after this war is over.
When Azerbaijan invades Armenia, you don't give a damn
I do, actually. I have stated my support for Armenia and opposition to Azerbaijan many times. I support Armenia because it's a Christian nation invaded by a Muslim one, and because Azerbaijan is the aggressor and I view them as Palestinian-like genocidal assholes. I also supported Serbia in the 90s for similar reasons, and opposed the EU/NATO bullying of Serbia.
And yet you're not even honest about it, that this is 100% and solely about your own interests, not about the "rules-based international order" which is Western hegemony that should be smashed.
You keep saying "you" attached to comments that clearly do not apply to me. I agree that the liberals should be smashed. If we had an "international order" run by people like Trump, DeSantis, and other right wing leaders, the world would be a much better place that wasn't obsessed with trannies, faggots, and other mentally ill people. We would actually allow countries to maintain common sense immigration laws to preserve their national identity and culture like Japan does, instead of getting fucked like Sweden.
See, the problem is that I have to say 'you' here, while I do believe that you are well-intentioned.
Thank you, but you don't have to say "you", you can say "the Biden admin". And look, I admit that even if Republicans win in 2024, the 95% of Democrats control of career government jobs isn't going to disappear. This is a MAJOR generational problem that will take decades to root out and reform. The deep state of unelected bureaucrats totally undermined Trump and make it much more difficult for him to get things done.
Your criminal government, on the other hand...
We have a problem right now where the only way we are going to reform our government is to keep winning elections so that we can keep up the pressure so the Democrats can't just play for time for 4 years and then take back power like what happened with Trump. We need to hold the Presidency for 8-20 years to really make a generational, deep cultural change in government.
And you should also be honest that the US is never going to lose a war, so change from the outside simply isn't going to happen. China has no shot. Not only is China a lot weaker than it looks on paper, but when it finally starts a war, it won't ONLY be fighting the US, it will be fighting everyone else nearby, like Australia, Japan, and others, possibly India. China is basically the last major threat to the global world order, and it doesn't have a snowballs chance in hell of overthrowing it. It's just a question of how messy it is going to be for the CCP to finally fall, and how many people have to die. My preference is for fewer people to die, and that requires a decisive victory.
There is a significant chance that if nothing changes fundamentally with the Democrats, that the US will continue to divide on Red/Blue lines until we have another "civil war" which likely won't be a bloody conflict but will instead be more of a national divorce with both sides refusing to continue with the "winner take all" federal government. If anything it might be the Blue states that try to secede if Republicans keep winning the White House, and I can tell you that I would WHOLEHEARTEDLY SUPPORT select deep blue states leaving the US so that conservatives could control the rest.
The French were defeated on the battlefield. The US was not.
No 'defeat' is final. It's only final when you decide that you don't want to hold it out anymore.
No, he by definition did NOT win DECISIVELY, hence the term "Pyrrhic Victory", which means when you technically win, but you take such high casualties that you are effectively defeated regardless since you are forced to retreat. Again, this didn't happen with the US.
The cause of the Pyrrhic victory can be anything. Clearly, the costs were too high for the US to sustain them. Ergo, the US was defeated.
You give the US too much credit. Our leaders are too incompetent to puppet anyone.
And our leaders are so incompetent that they do not need anyone competent to puppet them.
You need to understand that the Democrats are only about half the US, and the other half, myself included, have plenty of principles and oppose them.
Yes, and I think even a lot of rank-and-file Democrats do have principles, they're just very deluded. Also, a lot of GOP politicians don't. That is the problem. But that is why the sophisticated propaganda apparatus exists to make sure that the people are persuaded of what the politicians want them to believe. And that is why pure power plays like this "Ukraine" crap is always cloaked in something that the average American will find acceptable.
That said, you could see from the Trump presidency that Trump could not go up against the deep state by himself and win. This is going to be a generational struggle and my hope is that DeSantis or someone similar can finally start to roll back the Left's control of government.
As you say, the regime is the problem, not the figureheads at the top.
Are you completely mad? You think that it's Russia that wasn't playing nice? Not the people who betrayed Russia and kept expanding NATO as well as sponsoring coups and revolutions in countries allied to Russia, despite knowing full well that Russia was not happy with this, and wouldn't accept it?
I wouldn't mind at all if 3rd world countries were colonies of European countries and exploited for resources like the old days. If anything, that would just benefit the whole world.
They benefited at the time. They would not benefit now, as the European countries would just push homosexuality, racial divison and feminist claptrap down their throats.
Ukraine has never been a US puppet. Instead, it was simply a democratic country that wanted to turn away from Russia and towards the EU. It will likely fully join the EU after this war is over.
There is nothing 'democratic' about Ukraine, or other countries in the EU. They sure as hell aren't doing anything that is to the benefit of the people.
Very good. Unfortunately, too often American power gets put to use to help genocidal assholes, which is why I'm hoping that countries like Russia and China will destroy American power.
The problem is that eventually, "libs" are going to come to power again, assuming for a moment that they will ever be dislodgded to begin with. The result of that is that any increase in American power will just give those libs more power with which to push globohomo. So DeSantis makes America stronger, and after him President AOC or whatever will just use it to wreck even more places.
Thank you, but you don't have to say "you", you can say "the Biden admin".
It's not Biden or any "administration". Else the problem would be solved with a change of person at the top. It is the regime.
I admit that even if Republicans win in 2024, the 95% of Democrats control of career government jobs isn't going to disappear. This is a MAJOR generational problem that will take decades to root out and reform. The deep state of unelected bureaucrats totally undermined Trump and make it much more difficult for him to get things done.
Good luck with that, I'm definitely rooting for you. But I don't think that you will succeed, because you are no more democratic than we are.
I don't think that is going to happen. And that is why so called 'elections' are so useful to the elites. Even if by some off chance someone who is not to their liking gets into office, he'll soon be replaced and everything he did is overturned.
I am happy with some of the stuff on the state level though, but judges generally ruin those too.
India isn't going to war with a nuclear power over Taiwan. Same as Australia and Japan. But it will depend on judgments of Chinese strength or weakness. If China repeats the Russia stuff with India, in that it settled its border disputes and made a solid ally out of it, there can be a broader alliance to smash American hegemony.
China is basically the last major threat to the global world order, and it doesn't have a snowballs chance in hell of overthrowing it.
You speak of the 'global world order' as if it's a good thing. It means that America can murder hundreds of thousands, if not millions, while hypocritically crying about the actions of others.
Ironically, internal conflict is what did Rome in, at least the Roman Republic.
The problem is that even conservative states are like 60-40. And liberal states 40-60. It does not eliminate the enemy within. It will only encourage conservatives to overreach, which will then lead to a realignment that still have liberals being competitive. There are no permanent victories.
The US defeated the Taliban over and over again, and could have occupied the country for decades, even centuries if it wanted to secure the necessary cultural change.
...But political pressures back home prevented that. Therefore, it's completely accurate to say that the US did not have the political will to win.
Compare it to the British blockade of the Atlantic to destroy the slave trade - that took over seventy years of constant military presence to achieve.

Anyway the more accurate number looks like $7 billion: https://nypost.com/2022/08/16/more-than-7b-in-us-military-equipment-seized-by-taliban-pentagon-watchdog/
