So do any of them have good writing behind them or are they all just banking of the Pixar brand and style?
As I'll be honest, kinda went a bit downhill for me when they made Toy Story 4, you had a perfect ending with 3 and you could do shorts easily, why spoil it with another sequel.
because the story was originally about a male character and they had destroy him and replace him with a female one, and they had to add the black-sounding characters being "sassy"
Does the Pixar brand still mean anything? I may not be the best mainstream bellwether, but when I saw The Good Dinosaur I realized that there is no reason to assume that anything Pixar produces in the future will be good.
Looking at the list, their most recent movies of any real quality are Coco (2017) and Toy Story 3 (2010...holy shit 2010?? I'm so old). Onward was okay. Their crap movies outnumber their good ones by this point.
It means another overly sentimental movie with characters that look like they're made out of Play-Doh starring a protagonist who's unsatisfied with his current lot in life, who then inadvertently gets caught up in some wacky adventure that takes him away from home where he learns an important life lesson about the value of friendship and the family he had and took for granted. Or some crap to that effect.
Scouring imdb...
Elemental is a movie, the other three are series. Only Tiana has a credited writer or director (so far, much of the information hasn't been given yet) of any real note, or at least with work outside of Disney shorts.
