They just IP-check users (possibly in violation of GDPR) and automatically send anyone who is a moderator this message. They didn't bother to build in a check "did we ban this guy".
You should've said yes! If your goal is obfuscation of information, additional false positive checks are just as valuable, if not more valuable, than lack of information.
