Pretty much, before the alphabet organisations existed we only had men and women, not even mad emperor Caligula who went to war with the sea argued differently.
This is an extremely recent thing and if I were to pinpoint when the push hit the general public than something done in the shadows it would be somewhere in the 2000s
It’s definitely a very recent thing, and the most frustrating aspect is how they always try to claim that “past societies”, particularly indigenous (o wise magical Native American), had a concept of genders other than male and female.
BULLSHIT! They just had males who sometimes took on female roles, and vice versa. As EVERY society has had. No one in 15th century pre-Columbian America was talking about different genders and pronouns you dumb shit-for-brains commies.
But even if it were true that past societies did believe in a bunch of stupid made up genders, that doesn’t make it REAL nor does it mean our much more advanced and science-based society should give a damn. But unfortunately the sciences in the West have been hijacked by these ideologues so they are now claiming that it’s all “in line with the science” too.
Would be better to just think of it as insane bullshit. You know, like normal people would.
I would say 2010s. Really about the time GG started. Even the "Human Rights Campaign" was being criticized for not supporting it as recently as 2011.
The entire "many genders" idea didn't seem to be taken seriously by much of anybody, even leftists. Children inventing genders on Tumblr was treated as a joke and not reality. Even the concept of "transgender" wasn't taken to mean that there are more than two genders, just that some people (think they) are born as the wrong one.
You mentioning Tumbler got me thinking, you think when Tumbler got the rule changes and went off a cliff it, caused a containment leak where all the people that was 'otherkin' and the like mass infected other platforms?
I don’t think it helped, but ultimately what I think is worse has been those Tumblr kids aging up while being told by their teachers that it’s definitely not just a phase.
Leftists have transformed adolescent rebellion into a lifelong commitment for their own political gain and to the detriment of those involved. I don’t think they necessarily even care that it comes in the form of radical gender ideology, just that it’s a useful tool.
