I saw on Bounding into Comics that a “richly diverse” Buffy reboot was cancelled or put on pause. Somebody in the comments made a good point that he wished that show had aired since a good number of Buffy fans are in the woke/sjw category they can see how it feels to have something they like get ruined. If I’m not mistaken I think this was the show that Anita Sarkessian was complaining about. Odd since complaining about her negative influence on a hobby is bad but she can complain when it’s something she actually cares about. Maybe I give her too much credit but I blame her and Zoe for everything wrong with gaming in the past few years. Or at least corporations taking her idiotic ideas seriously
To be fair I have heard the Buffy tv show was pretty good. I haven’t seen the movie either.
Here is the thing. Buffy is not old enough to warrant a reboot so it's more understandable for people now.
Not like that stops the woke parasites.
Bruh it's 20 years old.
It is. But it's not like kids nowadays can't understand what's going on. That argument can be made for movies made in the 60s or whatever, but Buffy is not unaccessible culturally.
Where do kids have a hard time understanding what's going on with older movies? Is it because they'd be constantly whining about "where's his cell phone"? Cold War dynamics?
I mean, I never had any problem following stuff from my grandma's day, or dealing with seeing horses and buggies and kids in gingham (ugh, gross), who actually DID live a different lifestyle (more rural, enough to have a horse and a "swimming hole" that didn't burn your eyes with chlorine) .... the only thing was recognizing all the old actors Bugs Bunny made reference to (and I'm sure today's kids will have the same problem with OG Animaniacs.)
That shitshow had literally nothing to do with Sabrina, other than the name and le witches.
I don't even know why they called it the same, it was so different tonally, the lore, they changed around fucking Salem! The best character in the original.
I tried watching the Sabrina reboot. Couldn't finish the first episode.
Had a laugh at the progressive writers casually making Sabrina sexually-assault the guy struggling to get away from her when she was trying to mind-rape him to erase his memory.
I stopped watching when the extremely xenophobic, gate-keeping, purity focussed witchs covenant somehow had 2010 USA racial diversity.
There is also, oh irony a ''rape-culture'' plot point (totally glossing over what Sabrina did, it's about a chick in school getting struggle-snuggles.).
They took the name, but the show had barely anything to do with the original.
