What's the savvy boi's email of choice these days? I heard protonmail was supposed to have a good concept behind it but was ultimately skunked, though it's escaping me what exactly the issue was. But I don't really know, this isn't something I've put any real research into, I just know it's probably a good idea to go ahead and forgo my outlook account at this point.

my main is still protonmail but I never give out the address
I use a service called sneakemail and have been for more than a decade now. It lets me create an email alias for each contact then relays any email between my main address and the contact through its servers.
That way nobody has my real email address so I can't be tracked across databases, and I can revoke any address where I get spammed.
Some services treat sneakemail addresses like disposable and for those I have a yandex address I just use for registrations but never check.
protonmail leaked a bunch of user data, if I recall correctly. I don't remember if it was a hack or a response to some government subpoena, but it kind of undermined the whole thing.
I't still my main for e-mail, though. I can't find anything more secure. The reality is, if you want it secure, don't send it or receive it via e-mail.
Tutanota with my own domain so I can have a catchall. If I was a bit more tech savvy in that department(I know a lot about computers in general, just not servers) I would just host my own with a domain I own and pay for. In general if you can get a catchall address, it's so great to know where mails come from and you can point to Spammers or people who sold your mail while filtering it out easily.

I set my own up with that, and then I can leverage PGP encryption if I'm communicating with another human who has any idea what the fuck encryption even is.
